Welcome back! I hope you are rested, recharged and ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges of the second semester. Winter Break is a time for renewal, and as we return to our routines, I encourage everyone to maintain the momentum and not lose sight of the goals we set at the start of the school year. The second semester is pivotal in ensuring our students’ academic success and personal growth. Let’s keep the energy high and continue working toward a strong finish.
It is my pleasure to take a moment to celebrate an extraordinary individual within our school district. Congratulations to Anthony Major, who has been named the 2024-2025 St. Johns County School District School-Related Employee of the Year (SREY). Anthony serves as a job coach with the Life Work Program and was selected from an impressive group of 50 nominees for his outstanding job performance, dedication, leadership and unwavering commitment to our community.

Anthony is a proud product of St. Johns County Schools and has dedicated 25 years of service to our district. Known affectionately as “Coach” throughout our community, he tirelessly advocates for young adults with diverse exceptionalities, creating life-changing opportunities that foster interdependence, meaningful employment, and inclusion. His efforts have significantly reduced stigma, promoted personal growth and empowered students to become confident contributors to society.
Anthony’s recognition is a testament to the remarkable work happening in our schools every day. His name and accomplishments have been forwarded to the Florida Department of Education, where he will represent our district at the state level. Congratulations, Coach Major, and thank you for your inspiring dedication!

As we look ahead, I’m excited about the upcoming student achievement events, including the District Spelling Bee and the STEM Fair. These events provide wonderful opportunities to showcase the talents and hard work of our students. Let’s continue to support and celebrate their efforts as they strive for excellence.
Thank you for being a vital part of our school community. Let’s make this semester one of growth, achievement and pride for all.
Warm regards,

Tim Forson
Superintendent of Schools
