The 2023-2024 school year is off to an excellent start, thanks to the dedication of our incredible students, teachers and staff. The enthusiasm and positive energy I’ve witnessed in our schools have been truly inspiring. I want to express my gratitude to you for entrusting us with your child’s education. I am confident this year will be filled with growth, learning and memorable experiences.

As we move forward, I want to emphasize the critical role parents and guardians play in their child’s educational journey. Your involvement and support are invaluable. Please take the time to talk to your child about the importance of attending school regularly, completing assignments, and participating actively in their classes. Please encourage them to ask questions and seek help when needed. A strong partnership between home and school is essential for your child’s success.

To help you stay informed and engaged, we offer several communication tools:

  1. District Website: Our website, www.stjohns.k12.fl.us, is a valuable resource for important news, district policies, meeting notices and calendars. Please visit it regularly for the latest information.

This month, we celebrate CHARACTER COUNTS! Week, October 15-21. CC! Week is the perfect time to reinforce the significance of cultivating the Six Pillars of Character, Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. It provides a platform for instilling these values in our young leaders, helping them become not only academically successful but also morally grounded individuals who will make positive contributions to our community and society.

I would also like to recognize the dedicated individuals who play a crucial role in the safety and well-being of our students – our school bus operators. National School Bus Operator Week, October 16-20, is a time for us to express our deep appreciation for their commitment to safely transporting our students to and from school every day. Their hard work and dedication deserve our gratitude, so please join me in thanking them for their invaluable service.

Lastly, be sure to make the most of the fall season with your children. Embrace the vibrant colors, explore outdoor activities and enjoy quality time together as a family. Creating memories outside of the classroom is equally important for your child’s overall development.

Thank you for your ongoing support of the St. Johns County School District. Together, we can ensure that this school year is fulfilling and successful for your child. Wishing you a joyful and educational fall season.
